This project was primarily a test in the effective use of hand tools. All actions of this project, from breakout, to dimensioning, to cutting the dovetail joinery, were exclusively carried out using hand tools.

The box is made from ribbon striped African mahogany, while the marquetry top is made from an assortment of veneers. The lids' branch and the leaf pull are both cut from black cherry.
